The Weather Girls
Its Raining Men
Hi - Hi! Were your Weather Girls - Ah-huh -
And have we got news for you - You better listen!
Get ready, all you lonely girls
and leave those umbrellas at home. - Alright! -
Humidity is rising - Barometers getting low
According to all sources, the streets the place to go
Cause tonight for the first time
Just about half-past ten
For the first time in history
Its gonna start raining men.
Its Raining Men! Hallelujah! - Its Raining Men! Amen!
Im gonna go out to run and let myself get
Absolutely soaking wet!
Its Raining Men! Hallelujah!
Its Raining Men! Every Specimen!
Tall, blonde, dark and lean
Rough and tough and strong and mean
God bless Mother Nature, shes a single woman too
She took off to heaven and she did what she had to do
She taught every angel to rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman could find her perfect guy
Its Raining Men! Hallelujah! - Its Raining Men! Amen!
Its Raining Men! Hallelujah!
Its Raining Men! Ame---------nnnn!
I feel stormy weather / Moving in about to begin
Hear the thunder / Dont you lose your head
Rip off the roof and stay in bed
God bless Mother Nature, shes a single woman too
She took off to heaven and she did what she had to do
She taught every angel to rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman could find her perfect guy
Its Raining Men! Yeah!
Humidity is rising - Barometers getting low
According to all sources, the streets the place to go
Cause tonight for the first time
Just about half-past ten
For the first time in history
Its gonna start raining men.
Its Raining Men! Hallelujah! - Its Raining Men! Amen!

Moonlit reflection
This photo was taken on the beach side of the marina walk in Port dAlcudia. I saw this little boat sitting all by itself only accompanied by its own reflection and I thought I just had to photograph it...of course I had to go home and get the camera. By the time I got back it was dark, but I think it just makes the photo that much better.
Color enhanced and anti-noise filtered
Sorry I havent been around much lately. I think I am "caught" up on comments...but I know I will never be. If you havent heard from me lately, please drop me a line saying so. Maybe I accidentally missed you, but I definitely dont mean to snub anyone.
OH, and Happy Mothers Day!

Mallorca 2007 -- Waiting for summer to come
Playa de Muro, Mallorca
Feb 2007
I told you it was stormy! This is just before a big storm. I took two photos of the same empty chairs, but they were composed slightly differently. I chose to upload this one because I think the clouds look fantastic in it.

Mallorca. Alcudia
Alcudia is one of the towns in Mallorca that takes most care of its historical and culturial heritage.
Alcudia houses the ruins of the Roman city of Pollentia, was founded in 123 BC by the Roman coloniser of Mallorca, Caecilius Metellus.

It is my pleasure to dedicate this set to a very good photographer, whose work I encourage you to see.

Our eye must constantly measure, evaluate. We alter our perspective by a slight bending of the knees; we convey the chance meeting of lines by a simple shifting of our heads a thousandth of an inch…. We compose almost at the same time we press the shutter, and in placing the camera closer or farther from the subject, we shape the details – taming or being tamed by them.

Im not responsible for my photographs. Photography is not documentary, but intuition, a poetic experience. Its drowning yourself, dissolving yourself, and then sniff, sniff, sniff – being sensitive to coincidence. You cant go looking for it; you cant want it, or you want get it. First you must lose your self. Then it happens.

Objectivity is of the very essence of photography, its contribution and at the same time its limitation… Honesty no less than intensity of vision is the prerequisite of a living expression. The fullest realization of this is accomplished without tricks of processes or manipulation, through the use of straight photographic methods.

Very often people looking at my pictures say, You must have had to wait a long time to get that cloud just right (or that shadow, or the light). As a matter of fact, I almost never wait, that is, unless I can see that the thing will be right in a few minutes. But if I must wait an hour for the shadow to move, or the light to change, or the cow to graze in the other direction, then I put up my camera and go on, knowing that I am likely to find three subjects just as good in the same hour. -Edward Weston-

Lady Éowyn of Rohan
When I first looked on her and perceived her unhappiness, it seemed to me that I saw a white flower standing straight and proud, shapely as a lily, and yet knew that it was hard, as if wrought by elf-wrights out of steel. Or was it, maybe, a frost that had turned its sap to ice, and so it stood, bitter-sweet, still fair to see, but stricken, soon to fall and die?

This recognition, in real life, of a rhythm of surfaces, lines, and values is for me the essence of photography; composition should be a constant of preoccupation, being a simultaneous coalition – an organic coordination of visual elements.

A photo seen in its totality in one single moment, like a painting, its compostion is a melting together, an organic coordination of visual elements. You can’t compose gratuitously; there must be a neccessity, and you can’t separate form from substance.

Walk into the sunset
21 March 2007
Again, this photo was taken with the preset sunset setting in my camera. It may be cheating, but the colors come out really beautifully, so I dont really care.

There are more and more people showing up on this beach, but I cannot really understand why since it is so windy and rainy all the time. Oh well, I suppose if I was vacationing here I would head to the beach no matter what the weather.
I am moving in super slow-motion lately. My computer is really acting up. I opted for the quick fix which means that I will most likely need to disappear sometime next week while I re-install windows on my computer. Luckily, this particular computer came with a re-install disk and all its drivers. Its a good thing too, because American Windows is awfully hard to come by around here.

I may juggle the composition, as the strength of a picture is in the composition. Or I may play with the light. But I never interfere with the subject. The subject has to fall into place on its own and, if I don't like it, I don't have to print it.

my hasselblad was the best puchase i have ever made. it sees things nothing else does. they may or may not exist as we see them here but it f*cking nails them. no photoshop at all. its just another planet. i just carry it around an press its button and wind its winder. its all very strange though. i still dont fully understand what happens. i have to think now what i should do with this picture. even the hasselblad may make me wait a long time before it comes up with another like this.
